2013 People's Millions ITV London Nominees Revealed

The People's Millions is a partnership between Big Lottery Fund and ITV, where the public help decide which local community projects get Lottery funding.

Up to £50,000 will be awarded to four projects in each of ITV's 19 regional news areas.

Today we are proud to unveil the six organisations in London whose projects have been nominated to receive a share of this funding.

Construction Industry Trust for Youth - Build Brighter Futures

This project will see a hostel for homeless people in Ealing completely renovated.

Along the way, young homeless people and others at risk of homelessness will will receive accredited training which will help them go on and develop a career in the construction industry.

Fight for Peace (UK) - Enter the Champion

An academy in Stratford will deliver free boxing and martial arts training alongside a structured programme of life skills and personal development.

Young people who are not in education, employment or training, or are at risk of criminal behaviour and gang involvement will be mentored and receive employability training.

Green and Clean Services Limited - The Dig

A garden centre and plant nursery will be created by refurbishing an existing, council-owned site.

This centre will be then be used to support the training and employment of disabled people, including those with learning disabilities, through the growing, selling and distribution of plants.

The London Wildlife Trust - Wild about Thamesmead

A former munitions testing and storage site will be regenerated by local people in Thamesmead in order to enable this resource to benefit the community.

Building on existing links with nearby schools, youth projects and gardening groups, the organisation will organise open days, educational activities and volunteering events on the site.

London Play - Old Hands at Mud

This project aims to reduce isolation among Deptford's elderly people by encouraging them to participate in a local play project on Sunday afternoons.

Interacting with others participating in the play will help build confidence and walking escorts and accompanied public transport journeys will be provided to overcome fear of crime and other safety issues.

Grove Park Community Group - Shed Heaven

This project will see an existing garage removed and replaced by two pre-fabricated modular buildings with kitchen and toilet facilities.

These buildings will be used to develop practical skills including woodwork and house maintenance and musical skills and will be open to all ranges.

Voting will take place on November 25, 26 and 27. On each day of voting, two projects will go head-to-head to win the public vote and secure funding.
