Cars still dominate the commute to work in London

The vast majority of Londoners still travel to work by car, with only 4% going by bike. New figures from the RAC Foundation also show that significantly more people walk to work than cycle.

  • DRIVING A CAR OR VAN: 28%
  • PASSENGER IN A CAR OR VAN: 1.7%
  • WORK AT OR FROM HOME: 5.1%
  • UNDERGROUND, METRO, LIGHT RAIL, TRAM: 22.65%
  • TRAIN: 13.3%
  • BUS, MINIBUS, COACH: 14%
  • TAXI: 0.5%
  • MOTORCYCLE, SCOOTER,. MOPED: 1.1%
  • BICYCLE: 4.0%
  • ON FOOT: 8.8%
  • OTHER: 0.7%
