One of Princess Diana's most ornate of gowns is going up for auction in London this evening. The so-called "Fairytale" dress was designed by one of Diana's favourite designers, the Emanuels, in 1986.
The princess bought the ball gown at a Red Cross auction, rather than commission direct from the designers.
More than 25 years later and the dress is expected to fetch between £50 and £80,000 when it goes under the hammer.
It was a favourite of Diana's and she wore it several times, including to the Royal Opera House for a performance by the Bolshoi Ballet and to the Leicester Square premiere of the James Bond film 'The Living Daylights'.
