An exhibition showing previously unseen pictures of Princess Diana opens today. The Cork Street Gathering features a young Lady Diana Spencer working at a nursery in Pimlico.
The photographs are among a collection taken early in the Late Princess Diana's romance with Prince Charles. They were taken by one-time Fleet Street photographer John Minihan, who is possibly best remembered for his intimate images of Diana. Other iconic photos include his portraits of Yves Saint Laurent, Richard Burton and Al Pacino. He also captured literary figures and artists such as Francis Bacon, Andy Warhol, Samuel Beckett and the late Seamus Heaney.
While relatively unknown during his career, Minihan is now recognised as one of the finest Irish portrait photographers of his generation.
