More lawyers are returning home in the early hours, as minicab firm Addison Lee publishes new data on Christmas party trends.
According to the study, Thursday 19th December, will be a record-breaking night for Christmas parties across the Capital.
Based on a study of trends from recent years, it identified this evening as the time it will see its highest-ever number of daily bookings, beating last year's total of more than 36,000 journeys, as more Londoners celebrate the festive season.
The analysis of corporate account holders' journeys also reveals that lawyers are among the most likely professionals to stay out into the small hours partying in Mayfair and Moorgate - contradicting the straight-laced reputation often associated with the legal industry - whilst public sector workers are the most likely profession to bypass the festive celebrations altogether and take a car straight home at midnight.
As to be expected, fashion professionals continue to party later than ever in Sloane Square and Southwark, leaving architects, consultants and bankers to hit the hay.
Following London's biggest ever office party night, Friday 20th December is expected to be one of the capital's least productive days, with many office workers struggling to recover from big corporate celebrations taking place the night before.
This year's record-breaking figures could suggest that business confidence is gradually increasing in London, as the economy continues to show signs of recovery.
