Number of Londoners cycling to work more than doubles

The number of Londoners cycling to work has more than doubled in ten years.

The figures from the Office for National Statistics show number of commuting by bike went up from 77,000 in 2001 to 155,000 in 2011.

Boris Johnson pledged to increase the number of people getting around London by bike with the Cycle Hire Scheme and Cycle Superhighways.
