Dirty Rotten Scoundrels set for West End debut

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels is set to make its West End debut at the Savoy Theatre tonight.

The show stars Robert Lindsay and Rufus Hound as conmen Lawrence Jameson and Freddy Benson who compete for the riches and the heart of young heiress Christine Colgate played by Katherine Kingsley.

Theatre-goers should expect to be "transported to the luxurious lap of the French Riviera" as the two men pull out all of the stops to win Ms Colgate's affections.

Directed by Tony Award winning Jerry Mitchell and composed by David Yazbek, the production is based on the 1988 film starring Michael Caine and Steve Martin.

The musical was originally a hit on Broadway with John Lithgow and Norbert Leo Butz winning acclaim for their performances in leading roles.
