Tower Hamlets mayor Lutfur Rahman has failed to stop a legal challenge which could overturn his election victory.
Four political activists have launched an Election Petition at the High Court to try to get the result declared void. They claim May's poll was marred by vote-rigging, fraud and intimidation.
Rahman's lawyers tried to stop the process, saying the allegations lacked detail. But today two High Court judges rejected his bid to block the challenge. A full hearing is now likely to take place at Tower Hamlets Town Hall.
