A woman has posted a message on Facebook in which she says she was punched in the face for telling a man not to sexual assault her. Mary Brandon was at the Notting Hill Carnival on Monday when she says a man in the crowd grabbed her bottom. She says she pushed him away "exercising my right to tell a man to stop touching my body without my permission" so the man punched her in the face.

She says she had to spend nine hours in A&E after the incident. And she had this message for her attacker:

A woman should be able to leave the house without fear of being sexually assaulted. And she should be able to defend herself without being put in hospital. If you think it is OK then don’t come to carnival next year. You’re not welcome there or anywhere in our society. Bog off!
