'Drugs' found inside banana shipment by Tesco worker in Wokingham

A Tesco worker in Wokingham discovered what police believe to be Class A drugs as he unpacked bananas.

The worker was sorting the fruit shipment from South America when he discovered the stash of five bags inside a container.

Police were called to the premises at the Tesco superstore in Wokingham last week.

Thames Valley Police told ITV News London:

Police were called on the 22 of July to Tesco in Finch hampsted road, Wokingham to reports of packages being found in a consignment of fruit. They are believed to be Class A drugs and police are investigating.

A Tesco spokesperson told ITV News London that they have reported an issue to the police and are helping them with their investigations.
