Twelve people injured after bus crashes into tree

Ten people have been taken to hospital and another two treated for injuries after a bus crashed into a tree in east London.

The crash happened just before midday in Capel Road, Manor Park, close to the train station.

A man in his forties was was taken to hospital as a priority with head inujuries and a woman in her 60s was also taken as a priority with hip pain.

Six ambulances, London's Air Ambulance and a hazardous area response team were all sent to the scene.

We treated 12 patients in total. Ten patients were taken to hospital.

Five patients were taken to Whipps Cross Hospital and a further five to the Royal London Hospital.
