When Arsenal meet Bayern Munich tonight anything could happen according to Lee Dixon.
“When you mix the inconsistency of Arsenal in Europe with the class of Bayern it’s an intriguing mix” Lee Dixon told me, “it could be literally any result.”
After two miserable performances in the Champions League have left them bottom of their group Arsenal are on a high after beating both Manchester United and Watford 3-0 in the Premier League.
But there’ll be no place to hide if they crash out this early in the European campaign according to Dixon:
Whatever happens tonight it will be a tall order for the Gunners to qualify. Their next Champions League match is the return fixture in Munich before they face Dinamo Zagreb and Olympiakos again.
But it’s now the time of year when football fixtures come thick and fast and with Arsenal second in the Premier League next on the agenda’s a trip to Everton. And Dixon knows his old boss Arsene Wenger will be desperate to win the league again:
It’s a heavyweight clash in north London tonight. This one will be box office.
