Police are hunting three youths after a McDonald's worker was allegedly threatened with acid during an attempted robbery.

The 18-year-old staff member claims one of the suspects walked up to the counter and asked what he had got for them while flashing the handle of a knife in his waistband.

When he said nothing, one of the other suspects allegedly threatened him with a bottle which he claimed contained acid.

The victim refused to hand anything over and the trio left the fast food outlet in Romford, east London at around 11pm on January 4.

Detectives want to hear from anyone who recognises the trio, who were captured on CCTV, or witnessed the incident.
