Donations have poured in on the JustGiving page for Afghanistan veteran David Seath, who died and collapsed at the London marathon. The serving army officer collapsed just three miles from the finish, he later died in hospital.

Friends of David Seath created a JustGiving page in his memory with donations close to £30,000. The original target was just set at £4,800.

David has achieved more in 31 years than most people do in 70. He lived his life on the edge and to the full. He was running to raise money for Help For Heroes, a cause which was very important to him.

A London marathon spokesperson said the organisation "would like to express sincere condolences to David's family and friends".
