Households without water after burst water main in Crayford

A burst water main in Crayford is causing havoc for residents across Dartford, Greenwich and Bexley.

London Fire Brigade asked members of the public to avoid the area, which has seen Crayford retail park under water.

Complications to overnight water pipe repair work in Crayford Road have left a number of customers in the the area without water this morning.

Thames Water teams have been working since Tuesday afternoon to fix a 12-inch wide pipe, which runs inside a bridge above the railway line.

But a second burst on a joining pipe in the early hours of Sunday morning has now caused further disruption and flooding to the area, including parts of the High Street.

Thames water have advised customers that bottled water is available in the Crayford Road area for any customers still without water or low pressure.

Transport for London have said diversions are in place for affected bus routes.
