Litter of kittens dumped in a box days before Christmas need a new home

A litter of kittens dumped in a box just days before Christmas are looking for a new home.

The cats, aged between four and six-weeks-old, were found wrapped in a blanket and abandoned in a white box in Sybourn Street, Walthamstow, on 22 December.

RSPCA animal welfare officer Susan Naish went along to collect the kittens and took them into care.

The kittens must have been very confused and frightened being left by the side of the road like unwanted belongings.

To dump an animal at any time of year is shocking, but to leave such little and vulnerable babies in the midst of winter - and just before Christmas - is despicable.

I suspect these kittens were an unwanted litter but they may have been bred to sell as Christmas presents but then weren't purchased.

– Susan Naish, RSPCA animal welfare officer

If anyone knows where these kittens may have come from or saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area on 22 December, the RSPCA urges them to get in touch by calling 0300 123 8018.
