The original West End cast of Annie met for the first time in almost 40 years to watch the new production of the musical classic.
A group of 19 of the original 1978-1982 cast met on Wednesday at the Piccadilly Theatre in London to watch the musical's West End comeback starring TV's Miranda Hart.
Most of the cast ended up with a glittering career treading the boards. The young starlets went on to work in careers ranging from writing and teaching to financial services and one even became a tattoo artist, but they all still share a love for Annie.
The musical was based on a 1924 comic strip and told the story of Annie who lived in an orphanage run by the mean Miss Hannigan.
After escaping the orphanage, Annie spends the week with billionaire businessman Warbucks who then makes a public appeal to find her real parents.
Miss Hannigan's jailbird brother Rooster then enters the frame who falsely claims to be her father so he can claim a reward.
But all's well that ends well when their plan is foiled and Annie is adopted by Warbucks.
Vanessa Perry, 50, who was one of the 19 to meet for the reunion, said her time spent on stage with the production was 'the best of her life'.
