2am isn't the most popular time to pick up a few groceries but it seems meat was being offered for sale on the streets of North London in the early hours of this morning. Hackney police tweeted that a "silly sausage" offered suspected stolen meat to police officers in an undercover car.

The incident happened on Stamford Hill. Police say the meat was seized and the suspect's details were taken while inquiries continue.

The officers clearly have a sense of humour as they also said the suspect "wasn't happy to meat us!"

(We see what you did there....)
