Cara Delevingne novel on teenage woes hits shelves

She's become a well known figure on the catwalk and has appeared in several films but now the London model Cara Delevingne has become a novelist. The 25 year old's book "Mirror, Mirror", which is aimed at teenagers, is out today.

"Mirror, Mirror" is a twisty coming-of-age story about sixteen year old friends Red, Leo, Naima and Rose who are all trying to figure out who they are and navigate the minefield of school and relationships. Until it all changes one day…

Miss Delevingne announced the venture in March, calling it another "pinch me moment". She added that putting the novel together had been life changing and something she holds close to her heart. It is based around Pimlico Academy and follows the story of four 16 year old friends, who she describes as misfits.

The internationally renowned model and actor says she hopes the story of "Mirror, Mirror" will start "one big virtual book club", and get young people discussing self-discovery, friendship, pain and triumph. The book was co-written by bestselling author Rowan Coleman.
