A reveller was left with serious head injuries after a glass object was thrown inside a cocktail bar.

Police have released an image of an individual they wish to speak to after the victim was hurt in the unprovoked attack in the early hours of June 24.

The victim, in his twenties, had been drinking with friends at the Golden Bee bar, Shoreditch, when an unrelated altercation broke.

Despite having his back turned to the dispute, the victim's head was hit by a glass object thrown through the air.

He was left covered in blood and taken to hospital where he required stitches and glue to the wound.

Scotland Yard said investigators believed the incident was part of a larger bout of violence which began inside the bar before spreading out into the surrounding streets.

The Met have now released an image of a man they wish to speak to, who they believe was part of a birthday group at the venue.

He is described as a tall, slim, white man, with short brown hair and a short brown beard. He was wearing a short-sleeved white shirt, blue jeans, and dark-rimmed glasses.

Anyone who recognises the man in the photo or any witnesses should contact Central North Command Unit CID on 020 8345 0257 or 101 or Tweet @MetCC.
