The first snow of winter arrived in London causing major disruption for road and rail users.
There were big problems on national rail services heading north and west out of the capital.
Chiltern Railway were forced to suspend many of its departures from Marylebone, and cancellations and delays were also felt at Euston. A message was issued to passengers urging them not to travel.
Parts of the London Underground also struggled to cope with the elements. The Metropolitan line was completely suspended because of power problems, parts of the Central, Northern and Picadilly Lines were also shut.
Transport for London apologised for the disruption caused.
Meanwhile, this was the scene on the A41 heading towards the M25. Traffic was at a standstill with drivers using the opposite side of the road to backtrack on their journey.
Officials at the Met Office had warned of wintry conditions for much of the UK, having issued alerts for snow and wind.
