Shooting victim loses four centimetres from his leg

A shooting victim has lost four centimetres from his leg after being shot in south London.

Police say the 39-year-old has been left with life-changing injuries after being blasted with a single-barrelled shotgun.

He was stood on a quiet road in Morden, south London, around 6:30pm on Thursday November 30th when the random attack took place.

He told officers that he didn't recognise his attacker, who fled the scene in a black hatchback - possibly with a passenger.

The victim, who lives locally, was treated in hospital for around a month before being discharged.

But he faces another year of operations, and can currently only move with the aid of crutches. Police say no arrests have been made and inquiries are ongoing.

He has lost between three and four centimetres from the length of his right leg and faces a further year of surgical operations, rehabilitation and assistance in order to continue his recovery.

He can currently move only with great difficulty on crutches.

We need to hear from anyone who might have seen this happen - whether they saw the assailant or the suspect vehicle, or something suspicious leading up to this incident.
