A distressed cat was found abandoned on a housing estate in Edmonton with a cable tie around its neck.

The two-year-old cat also had cuts on his legs and what appeared to be cut or burnt whiskers. A passer-by cut the cable tie from around his neck and called the RSPCA.

This certainly appears to be a deliberate attack which would have caused severe suffering to the cat.

Thankfully he was spotted by a kind member of the public who knew they needed to act fast and cut the cable tie from around his neck.

There are no obvious wounds to his neck from the cable tie but the moggy was very lethargic and had wounds to his feet.

He is now receiving treatment at Harmsworth and is bright and eating well.

We are now appealing for anyone who may have information on how the poor cat came to be in this state, to contact us in strictest confidence, on the inspectorate appeal line on 0300 123 8018.
