Boy, 7, dies after falling off pub wall in east London

The death of a seven-year-old boy who fell off a wall in a pub beer garden is being investigated by police.

The garden of The King Harold pub in Harold Wood, east London, remains sealed off following what appeared to be a tragic accident yesterday afternoon.

The boy, who has not been named but is understood to live locally, died in hospital. A post mortem is due to be carried out.

Police are treating the boy's death as "unexplained" and the Health and Safety Executive has been informed.

Police were called by the London Ambulance Service to a pub in Station Road shortly after 5.20pm on Tuesday to a report of a child who had fallen from a wall.

Officers and paramedics attended and a seven-year-old boy was found with serious injuries.

He was taken to an east London hospital where he was pronounced dead at 6.33pm. His next of kin have been informed.
