Detectives have formally identified the headless torso discovered in the Regent's Canal in London on Tuesday as that of former EastEnders actress Gemma McCluskie, Scotland Yard said.

A murder investigation is underway after the torso of a female was discovered close to Broadway Market around 14:40 on Tuesday 6 March.

Gemma, 29, who starred in the soap as Kerry Skinner back in 2001, vanished from Bethnal Green, East London.
Last night 100 friends carried out a search and handed out leaflets.
Her brother Danny, 33, said: "We are all going out of our mind with worry. Her phone has been switched off since Thursday afternoon."
