Digital Switchover Completed
"Spectacular" light show planned to mark digital switchover
The historic switch from analogue to digital television is being celebrated this evening with a special light show.
The Crystal Palace transmission mast will be illuminated in what organisers are describing as an 'explosion of light'.
The analogue television signal has been switched off permanently in London from today. That means you will either need a digital television, a digital set-top box, cable or satellite services in order to receive a signal.
All digital television users will also need to re-tune their sets today. Further details can be found on the Digital UK website.
The light show will begin at 9:15pm tonight.
