Six caravans have been parked on the south side of Clapham Common since yesterday afternoon.
Residents in Clapham say they're fustrated that an illegal travellers' site has been created on the common.
They awoke to find that several caravans had been parked in the middle of the iconic green overnight - without warning.
Conservative Lambeth Councillor Julia Memery told Liz Wickham that it's a civil case and they expect an eviction by Monday at the latest, if the travellers have not moved on voluntarily by then.
Speaking to our reporter, Liz Wickham, the travellers say they're Irish and have nowhere else to go.
The six caravans are parked on football pitches, preventing some of the regular Saturday morning matches from being played.
