Two women stabbed in Wapping Woods

Police are warning Londoners to be vigilant after two women were stabbed in a park in Wapping in separate attacks.

Both women were walking through Wapping Park alone when they were attacked by a man they described as Asian, aged 18 to 30, and between 5ft 2ins and 6ft tall.

The first woman, aged 38, was stabbed on December 4 at about 6:30pm.

The second woman, aged 26, was attacked and stabbed yesterday at about 12:30pm. She was taken to hospital but her injuries are not life-threatening.

Police are doing extra patrols in the area and believe the two attacks could be linked.

"There are clear similarities between these incidents and officers are doing everything possible to find the man or men responsible.

"The violence used in these attacks is hugely concerning and could easily have led to a fatality.

"I would urge anyone with information that could assist officers to make contact with the police as soon as possible so that we can apprehend whoever is responsible."
