The Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said he believes his new left-back will fit in with the club's style of play. The Gunners clinched the signing of Spanish international Nacho Monreal from Malaga yesterday.
Palace take veteran striker Phillips on loan
Blackpool have said that the former England international Kevin Phillips has agreed a deal to go on loan to Crystal Palace until the end of the season. The 39 year-old has scored over 270 goals in his career.

Fulham have signed Dutch international Urby Emanuelson on loan from AC Milan. The 26 year-old used to play at Ajax under Fulham boss Martin Jol.
They've also brought in Bulgarian international Stanislav Manolev from PSV Eindhoven.

QPR's Faurlin goes to Italy
Queens Park Rangers have announced that midfielder Alejandro Faurlin has joined the Italian club Palermo on loan until the end of the season. The 26 year-old has been at Loftus Road for three and a half years.
QPR confirm signing of Christopher Samba

The 28 year-old Congolese defender has penned a four-and-a-half year deal in W12, after Rangers agreed an undisclosed club record fee with Anzhi Makhachkala for the players signature.
The deal is subject to the player receiving international clearance.
German star Holtby to join Spurs immediately
Tottenham has reached an agreement with the German side Schalke to bring forward the signing of Lewis Holtby. The midfielder had originally agreed to come to White Hart Lane in the summer but the clubs have now decided the transfer will take place immediately.
QPR rejected in bid for Odemwingie
Queens Park Rangers have had a second bid for striker Peter Odemwingie turned down by his club West Brom. Rangers made a £2m bid at the start of the January and Odemwingie handed in a transfer request at the Midlands club. However, West Brom have said they will not sell one of their "core players".
