According to the Press Association, Liverpool midfielder Joe Cole is having a medical at West Ham ahead of his proposed return to the club where he began his career.

Cole has started just nine Barclays Premier League games since he swapped Chelsea for Liverpool in the summer of 2010.

Reds boss Brendan Rodgers said that he did not requite Cole's services when he took over last summer and the midfielder is keen to go back to Upton Park, where he began his career back in 1994.

The former England midfielder Joe Cole could be about to return to London, after he failed to establish a place in the first team at Liverpool. Cole could be set for a return to West Ham where he began his career though QPR are also said to be interested.

Cole joined Liverpool from Chelsea in 2010 but has yet to start a Premier League game this season.
