Boris: football festival "will revive spirit" of Olympics

Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, says he's delighted that the football festival will be held in Stratford.

"We are delighted that the UEFA Champions Festival is returning to London and especially that it will take place on the International Quarter close to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the scene of our biggest sporting moment. It will provide a fantastic week-long family event and will revive the spirit of community and celebration that made last year's Olympic Games so special."

Football fans attending the free festival will be able to visit a "Champions League museum", featuring memorabilia from previous tournaments, and have their photos taken with the competition trophy.

Coaching courses will also be available for children and former England players Faye White and Steve McManaman will be meeting and greeting fans as festival ambassadors.

Meanwhile, an "Ultimate Champions Match" will feature a number of Champions League greats of years gone by.

The festival will coincide with the UEFA Champions League final, which is taking place at Wembley on Saturday 25th May.
