Police have arrested a 20-year-old man after a teenager was shot dead in Edmonton, North London on Monday night.

Third arrest over Mohammed Hussein murder

Detectives investigating the murder of Mohammed Hussein in Edmonton on Monday 1 April have made a third arrest.

A 19 year old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently in custody at an east London police station.

Two men have been charged previously.

20 year old Natneal Tefsay of Park Road and Christopher Aluma, 18, of Foxglove Close appeared at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court on yesterday charged with the murder of Mr Hussein.

They were remanded in custody to the Old Bailey on Tuesday, 9 April.

Man arrested after Edmonton shooting leaves one dead

A 20-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a shooting in North London left one man dead.

Police were called to the scene in Bounces Road, Edmonton on Monday evening around 21.45 where the 19-year-old victim, Mohammed Hussein was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination revealed he died from a single gun shot wound to the chest.

Police say they 'retain an open mind' regarding the circumstances of the shooting and continue to appeal for witnesses.

Edmonton shooting: witnesses heard shots

Neighbours of a man who was shot dead in Lower Edmonton last night have spoken of their shock. Mohammed Hussein was discovered by emergency crews in Bounces Round just before 10pm last night. They battled to save him but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

"At first I thought it was a firework, but then, when I looked out of the window and saw all the police and paramedics, I realised someone had been shot.

They spent about 20 or 30 minutes trying to resuscitate him but then after about half an hour they put a blanket over him. Blood was just pouring out of him - it was shocking."

A post-mortem examination is due to start at 2.30pm today.

Forensic officers are at the scene this afternoon, examining bullet cases and other evidence in Bounces Road.

"I heard lots of shouting outside the kebab shop, then an hour later I was in my bedroom and I heard two shots. I looked out of my window and the guy was lying on the floor and there was blood everywhere. It's a shocking incident, it's scary to think this kind of thing can happen in your neighbourhood."

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

Detective Chief Inspector John Sandlin said: "I am appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Bounces Road or Walbrook House at 9.45pm to help us with our investigation."

"Earlier in the night a group of guys chased after the victim, who was in a car with a mate, and smashed a window. He then came back later and that's when the shooting happened. He was with three of his friends and I think they ran off when he was shot."

A 19-year-old shot dead in Lower Edmonton last night has been named by police as Mohammed Hussein.

A post-mortem is due to take place in Haringey. No arrest has been made, and police are appealing for witnesses.

Det Ch Insp John Sandlin said: "I am appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Bounces Road or Walbrook House at 2145 hrs to help us with our investigation. Likewise if you have any information - no matter how small that can help identify those responsible please come forward and assist us."

A murder investigation has begun after a 19-year-old was shot dead in Lower Edmonton. Local people describe hearing two loud shots just before 10pm, but no shouting or raised voices beforehand.

Our reporter Ronke Philliips, says one resident, whose flat looks directly over the scene, looked out of her window and saw the victims lying in a pool of blood.

The dead teenager has not yet been formally identified, but police say his family have been told.
