A mother and her child were injured when they collided with a scooter on a pedestrian crossing.

Driver returns to scene

The scooter driver returned to the scene after initially fleeing.He was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of an accident. He has since been bailed to a date in late August pending further inquiries.

"I am appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of this collision to come forward and speak to officers.

"I am particularly keen to speak to anyone who saw the scooter involved, a silver Gilera being ridden by a man wearing a black crash helmet, which was travelling south on Church Road prior to the collision."

Pair hospitalised after crash

A 21 year old woman and her daughter, who was three, were taken to a London hospital after the pair were in collision with a scooter. The child has since been discharged and the woman remains in hospital with a leg injuries.

Police officers want to speak to anyone who saw a crash in which a mother and her child were injured. Officers were called to reports of a scooter in collision with two pedestrians in Northolt yesterday afternoon. They were using a pedestrian crossing at Church Road.
