Trafficking trial gets underway

The first evidence is expected to be heard in the the trial of ten Asian men accused of trafficking a young girl to the UK to be groomed for sexual purposes.

Trial over child exploitation allegations

Ten men have gone on trial today accused of sexually abusing a young girl over a five-year period. The court was told that the girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, believed she was in a relationship with one of the men, even though she was only 11 years old.

The offences are said to have been carried out in High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire. Ria Chatterjee reports.

Pros say 1st defendant, Iblal Fiaz, groomed girl from start. They say she was an unhappy 11yo & he gave her the attention she wanted.
