Pensioner murder sentencing

A 20 year old man has been sentenced to a minimum of 32 years in prison for the murder of former model and actress Jean Farrar in Brentford.

Man sentenced for murder of Brentford pensioner

Daniel Barnett, 20, was this morning sentenced to a minimum of 32 years in prison for the murder of Jean Farrar.

Mrs Farrar, a 77 year old former model and actress who had worked alongside Roger Moore, was beaten to death in her flat in Brentford on October 25th last year.

Barnett, who was high on drink and drugs, had broken into her home to burgle her.

Passing sentence His Honour Judge Bevan QC said:

"This was a merciless, gratuitous, vicious and above all cowardly attack on a totally defenceless victim."
