Man held over Brixton shooting

A man arrested yesterday in connection with a shooting in Brixton remains in custody at a south London police station, the Metropolitan Police said today. Police attended a two people suffering gunshot wounds to the hip and leg.

Man charged after Brixton shooting

A 50 year-old man from Brixton has been charged with three counts of attempted murder following a shooting incident yesterday morning which left two people in hospital. Andrew Stephenson from Strathleven Road will appear before magistrates in Camberwell tomorrow.

He has also been charged with firearms offences.

Man remains in custody after Brixton shootings

A man arrested yesterday in connection with a shooting in Brixton remains in custody at a south London police station, the Metropolitan Police said today.

Police attended a woman, 59, suffering a gunshot wound to the knee, and a man, 59, suffering gunshot wounds to the hip and leg.

The London Ambulance Service attended and they were taken to a south London hospital for treatment. They remain there in stable, non-life-threatening conditions.

Bailiff and housing officer shot in Brixton eviction

A bailiff and an housing officer were two of the people shot during a routine eviction in south London today. Armed officers were called to the scene and have since arrested one man.

They're said to be "shaken" - but not seriously hurt- after they were fired at six times during a row on Strathleven Road just before 10 o'clock.

Housing association employee shot during eviction

The female victim shot as she tried to evict a tenant in south London was an income officer at the Metropolitan Housing Association, they said today.

The 59-year-old woman and a man in his 60s were left with gunshot wounds after attempting to force a man to leave a property in Strathleven Road, Brixton, this morning.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said:

At this early stage it is understood that the two victims were involved in an eviction of a resident from a property.

Air ambulance attend to pair shot in Brixton

Two people shot on a street in Brixton, south London were both conscious when they were taken to hospital, the London Ambulance Service said today.

A spokeswoman for London Ambulance Service said:

We sent a responder in a car, two ambulance crews, London Air Ambulance and an officer.

Staff treated two patients, a man reported to be in his 60s and a 59-year-old woman. They were both treated for gun shot wounds and taken as priorities to hospital.

The woman was escorted by a doctor from the air ambulance.
