Officers last year released a CCTV still believed to be the same man after an attempted burglary in Wimbledon Village. Police were called on Thursday 12 January 2012 to a home on Arthur Road in Wimbledon Village following reports of an attempted burglary.
The suspect is believed to have arrived in a dark Vauxhall Astra or Corsa which he parked nearby before using a small ladder to climb over a fence. He then cut the cables to the exterior CCTV cameras and tried the rear doors before leaving the scene.
This close up image was captured by a security camera during a burglary in Bathgate Road in Wimbledon Village on 29 March this year.
The number of burglaries being potentially linked to this burglar is 35. Police say the incidents date as far back as 2006. Despite extensive enquiries and the release of a photographic image to the media in 2012, he has yet to be caught.
The burglaries are being linked as they have been committed in a similar manner within the Wimbledon Village area.
The meticulous removal or destruction of security equipment of the properties is part of the burglar's tactic prior to committing the burglary.
The thief steals small items during the burglaries, including money and jewellery.
