Police are appealing for more information over the rape of a 12-year-old girl on Saturday in Walthamstow. A teenager has been arrested in connection with the attack.
Detective Inspector Simon Ellershaw, leading the investigation, said:
This was a very nasty attack on a vulnerable girl just 12 years old by a group of older males who engaged her in conversation before leading her to a secluded area. She was pinned down and two of the males then brutally raped her.
Despite this arrest we are still appealing for anyone with information or any witnesses to please contact police as soon as possible.

Police investigating the rape of a girl in Walthamstow have arrested a 17-year-old boy. The girl, aged 12, was assaulted on Saturday just after midnight by two men.
The teenage boy remains in custody at an east London police station.
The girl saw three men in the area before she was pinned down and raped by two of the men. The victim managed to call a friend who came to the scene and they left together. The suspects then left the area.
