The cyclist was taken a short distance from the scene of the collision to the air ambulance. He was then flown to a hospital in east London. The driver of the lorry stopped at the scene to speak to police.
London's Air Ambulance took the injured cyclist to hospital at around 6:30pm on Tuesday. The condition of the man, who is aged in his mid-20s, is described as serious but stable.
A cyclist is in a serious condition in hospital this morning after colliding with a lorry in south London. Police were called to Tooley Street in Southwark last night and are appealing for witnesses.
