Salesman Matthew Hines, who works at nearby Carpet Corner, said police had told supermarket staff about the attack.

A woman has been stabbed in the leg by a man who grabbed her from behind and tried to cut her throat in south east London. The victim, who is now recovering in hospital had just left the Co-op supermarket in Plumstead Common Road.
