Met Police dog Fuzz is recovering after being hit around the head with a metal baton by a suspected armed robber.

Fuzz the police dog suffered a deep cut to his eye while helping to catch a suspected armed robber in Downham.

The German Shepherd clung on to the man despite being battered around the head with a metal baton.

Noticing that Fuzz was bleeding heavily from his nose, as well as his eye, he was taken by his handler for emergency veterinary treatment.

Fuzz, who has been with the force since he was 7 weeks old, is expected to make a full recovery.
