Woman accused of friend acid attack breaks down in tears

A woman accused of disguising herself in full veil, before throwing acid at her friend because she was jealous of her good looks is giving evidence in her defence.

Mary Koyne broke down in tears as she described being arrested as she was about to take final degree exams. Konye describes being "really, really close" to the victim when they were at secondary school.

She tells the jury she was so close to the victim that at one point they would speak and message each other every day.

Naomi Oni suffered serious burns to her face and chest, lost her hair and eyelashes and was left scarred for life by an attack on December 30, 2012.
