A 23-month-old girl who was found dead along with her mother at an address in Hackney died after suffering incised wounds to the neck.
The post-mortem investigation of Valerie Forde, 45, found that she died of multiple injuries.
Ms Forde and her daughter Real-Jahzarah McKoy were found at a property in Oswald's Mead, Hackney on Monday.
A 53-year-old man, who also suffered injuries at the address, is in a stable condition in an east London hospital.
He has been arrested on suspicion of murder.
The Directorate of Professional Standards has referred prior contact with the victim to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
