A father from east London has denied killing his partner and their young daughter. Roland McKoy, 53, from Hackney, appeared before the Old Bailey charged with murdering 45-year-old Valerie Forde and Real-Jahzarah McKoy, who was nearly two.

A father from east London has denied killing his partner and their young daughter. Roland McKoy, 53, from Oswald's Mead, Hackney, appeared before the Old Bailey charged with murdering 45-year-old Valerie Forde and Real-Jahzarah McKoy, who was nearly two.

The mother and child were found dead at the Hackney home on March 31. McKoy stood in the dock and spoke only to confirm his name and enter not guilty pleas. Members of the victims' family sat in the courtroom for the brief hearing.

The judge Anthony Morris QC remanded him in custody to await trial on December 8.

A man has been charged with the murders of a mother and her 23-month-old daughter in Hackney.

Valerie Forde, 45, and her daughter Real-Jahzarah McKoy were found at an address in Oswalds Mead, Hackney on March 31.

Police confirmed that Roland McKoy, 53, of Oswalds Mead, has been charged with killing the pair.

The young child died as a result of incise wounds to the neck, while her mother had suffered multiple injuries, a post-mortem found.
