The collision happened at 6:35 this morning. Neighbours said they heard a loud bang and thought a lorry had crashed into the bridge. When they walked out onto the street they saw a 4 car pile up. They said they tried to help a young woman and a man who were trapped in their vehicles.

A man has sustained life-threatening injuries following a 4 car collision on St Mildred's Road at the junction with Baring Road SE12 this morning.

London Ambulance Service and the Air Ambulance attended the crash to help the injured. One man is suffering from life-threatening injuries following the collision.

Road closures remain in place, and motorists are being urged to avoid the South Circular Road between Grove Park and Catford. No arrests have been made at this stage.
