Boy aged one dies in Finsbury Park 'incident'

A one-year-old boy has died and a one-year-old girl is in critical condition after both were seriously injured in an incident in Finsbury Park, north London, police say.

Police: 'Enquiries underway' over death of boy, 1, near Finsbury Park

Detectives from the Met Police's homicide unit say "enquiries are underway" following an incident in which a boy died and a girl was critically injured.

Officers found a boy and girl - both aged one - with critical injuries at a flat near Finsbury Park.

Both were taken by ambulance to an east London hospital, but the boy was pronounced dead just after 12.45am on March 19.

Next of kin have been informed.

Police said there will be a post-mortem examination before formal identification.

The girl remains in hospital. There has been no arrest at this stage.
