There has been a worrying increase in the number of pilots being targted by laser attacks as they fly over the capital.
The Met Police have released images of a blinding flash caused by a blue laser beam shone directly at a pilot during the Olympic Games.
But new kit is allowing the police to fight back, as Ronke Phillips now reports.
Richard Brandon, who works on board the Met's helicopter, says lasers being shone into cockpits are "incredibly distracting". However, their helicopter does have new equipment to identify where the laser is coming from.
The Metropolitan Police has warned it is targeting people who aim lasers at aircraft over London.
