Lansbury returns to London stage

Earlier this week Lucrezia Millarini met with Angela Lansbury to talk about the Oscar winning star's return to the London stage for the first time in nearly forty years.

The actress - who became world famous for her roles including playing Jessica Fletcher in Murder She Wrote - is back in her home town to appear in Noel Coward's classic Blythe Spirit at the Gieldgud theatre:

Angela Lansbury to return to West End after 40 years

For the first time in 40 years, Poplar-born actress Angela Lansbury is to appear on the London stage in a new production of Noel Coward' Blithe Spirit.

The 88-year-old will reprise the role of Madame Arcati, which she first played on Broadway in 2009, winning a Tony Award.

She told the Daily Mail: "You could say it’s my last chance...It isn’t! But you could say that. After all, I am 88 — in my 89th year now. But I’ve got many more years left. I do believe that".

Blithe Spirit will begin a 15-week run at the Gielgud Theatre on March 1, with an official opening night set for March 18.
