Man jailed for unprovoked attacks on two women

A 35 year-old man has been jailed for four years for knocking two young women unconscious in unprovoked attacks. Last November, police released this footage of Michael Ayoade punching a 16 year-old to the ground in the High Street in Plaistow.

After he was arrested, police realised he had also attacked a university student, Daniella Montieth, at Plaistow tube station in November 2011. She was knocked unconscious in the ticket hall.

Judge Roger Chapple said they were "vicious, unprovoked attacks on young, lone females".

Police arrest man following Hounslow attacks

Police investigating two serious attacks on women in Hounslow have arrested a man in connection with their investigation.

Following police appeals, including issuing a CCTV image of a suspect, an officer on a high-visibility patrol at Hounslow train station recognised the man at around 10pm on Tuesday night.The constable, who only recently took up her post with the Metropolitan Police, decided to make an arrest.

The man, aged 20, was taken into custody at a west London police station, where he remains.
