Rock act Bon Jovi are to headline a new festival which will be staged in London's Hyde Park this summer. The Barclaycard British Summer Time event, promoted by AEG, has been set up in the park after rival promoters Live Nation Europe transferred their concerts to the Olympic Park.

There have been problems with concerts at Hyde Park - last year the sound was turned off at a Bruce Springsteen concert because it would have broken a curfew brought in to protect local residents from the noise.

However, Rob Hallett, president of International Touring for AEG Live, said: "It is fabulous that, as we begin to celebrate a decade of working together with Bon Jovi, we come together again to launch a reimagined series of shows at the iconic Hyde Park."
